Tractor Ram Raid at Bundoora Park Farm: Police Release Footage
Police are searching for a group of offenders who broke into an urban farm in Melbourne's north earlier this month, using a stolen tractor to ram into the front doors of the Bundoora Park Farm's cafe. Anyone who was in the area at the time is urged to contact police.
Police have released footage of a group of offenders who carried out a tractor ram raid at a popular urban farm in Melbourne's north earlier this month.
The group used a stolen tractor to smash into the front doors of the Bundoora Park Farm's cafe, causing significant damage.
Break-in and theft
Investigators say the group arrived at the farm on e-bikes at about 12:15am on the morning of Sunday, 20 September, before breaking into several sheds and stealing garden tools.
They then stole a tractor and used it to ram the front doors of the farm's cafe.
"All animals are safe and well," the Bundoora Park Farm said in a statement on social media announcing it was closed at the start of last week due to "significant vandalism".
Police investigation
Police said the group fled the scene when an alarm went off, leaving the tractor's engine running as they left on the bikes.
Detectives have released vision of the ram raid and are urging anyone who saw the group to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The council-run urban farm offers educational programs in agriculture and horticulture as well as functions, work experience and animal handling.
