Tragedy Strikes: Second Child Dies in 4WD Rollover West of Melbourne

A second child has died following a single-vehicle crash at Parwan, west of Melbourne, on Tuesday afternoon.
Victoria Police said an 11-year-old boy died overnight after being flown to hospital with critical injuries. A seven-year-old girl died at the scene after a 4WD carrying seven children rolled just before 4pm.
Five other children were hospitalised and the driver, a 34-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for observation. Ambulance Victoria said three primary school-aged children were taken to the Royal Children's Hospital. One of those was the 11-year-old boy who later died. The other two suffered upper and lower body injuries but were in a stable condition.
A teenage boy and a primary school-aged boy were taken to the Sunshine Hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries. A female toddler was taken to Sunshine Hospital with a minor upper body injury in a stable condition.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind the crash, which happened near the intersection of Nerowie and Parwan-Exford roads. Detective Sergeant Tony Gentile from the Major Collision Investigation Unit said the woman had picked the children up from school.
