Urgent Search Underway for Missing Dandenong Woman Last Seen Near Parkdale Beach
Authorities are intensifying their search for a 39-year-old Dandenong woman, identified as Yun (also known as Michelle), who has been missing since Wednesday. Police and volunteers are combing the Parkdale foreshore area in Melbourne's south, focusing on the vicinity where her vehicle was discovered.
Last Known Movements
Yun was last sighted on Wednesday evening at approximately 5:45 PM, walking through a foreshore car park located at the intersection of Rennison Street and Beach Road in Parkdale. CCTV footage shows her heading towards the beach from the car park. Earlier, on Tuesday morning, she was captured on camera at a local service station, filling up her car.
Vehicle Found, Concerns Grow
Her car was located by officers in the Parkdale car park on Friday night. Alarmingly, her mobile phone was found inside the vehicle. Family members, who have maintained regular contact with Yun until Tuesday, have expressed significant concern, stating her disappearance is highly out of character.
Extensive Search Operations
A large-scale search operation was conducted yesterday involving the Air Wing, Water Police, the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard, and uniformed officers, who thoroughly searched the Parkdale foreshore and adjacent waters. Today, police and State Emergency Service volunteers will conduct a detailed line search of the area surrounding the car park.
Public Appeal for Information
Police are urging anyone who may have seen Yun or has any information regarding her whereabouts to contact Dandenong Police Station on (03) 9767 7444. In case of immediate sighting, the public is asked to call Triple Zero (000).
