Search Suspended for Missing Surfer in Rough Conditions near Margaret River
The search for a surfer who has gone missing in challenging conditions has been temporarily suspended due to adverse weather along the coastline near Margaret River.
Challenging Weather Halts Search Efforts
Police, marine rescue teams, and jet skis were forced to suspend the search around Surfer’s Point on Saturday afternoon as wild weather battered the area. The man, described as being in his 40s, was reported missing by another surfer on Friday afternoon at around 4:35pm. The witness observed that the missing surfer was in need of assistance; however, he was unable to reach him due to the rough conditions.
Extensive Search and Rescue Operation
Upon receiving the report, a comprehensive search and rescue operation was immediately initiated at Surfer’s Point near Margaret River. Police and emergency services were called in to conduct the search both in the water and along the beach area.
“At this time, the surfer has not been located,” stated a police spokesperson.
Surfer’s Point Closed During Search Operations
As authorities continue their efforts to locate the missing surfer, Surfer’s Point has been temporarily closed to ensure the safety of all individuals involved in the search.
