Legendary rock band Australian Crawl is set to reunite for a string of shows around Australia, marking their first tour since splitting in 1986. The forthcoming reunion has been anything but smooth sailing, with founding frontman James Reyne and guitarist Simon Binks filing an application to the Federal Court challenging the acquisition of Australian Crawl trademarks by Bill McDonough, the band's drummer from 1978 to 1983.
A Rocky Road to Reunion
Despite the challenges, Reyne and Binks will lead the charge, with former drummers David Reyne and John Watson also onboard. However, Binks bailed in September, citing scheduling conflicts with the band's outdoor shows.
Reyne has never been his band's biggest champion, often regarding the songs he wrote as a teenager with a kind of personal cultural cringe.
