AFL Grand Final Live: Kylie Minogue Shines at Wet MCG

The AFL season reaches its climax at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) today, with history on the line regardless of the result. Brisbane is seeking a third consecutive premiership, while Fremantle is vying for its first-ever flag.

The pre-game entertainment has kicked off, with performer G Flip taking to the stage. "And they're kicking things off with firepower!" commentator Dannielle Maguire exclaimed.

Kylie Minogue has also arrived at the MCG, rocking her own merchandise. "Because why the heck not?" Maguire said.

The pre-game festivities have included a retirees motorcade, with Fremantle's Nat Fyfe and former Brisbane, Collingwood, and Fremantle player James Aish in attendance. A huge "Freo!!!" chant broke out at the MCG as the motorcade got underway.

Commentator Andrew McGarry noted that the weather conditions may impact the game, with rain and a strong breeze expected. "This one day in September is ... a little challenging, weather-wise — at least for fans," he said.

Team Line-Ups

The final teams for the grand final have been announced, with no late changes. Brisbane and Fremantle will field the same line-ups as in their preliminary finals.

Lachie Neale's inclusion in the midfield has garnered attention after a tumultuous week. "The question isn't physical but mental – how will the way events have played out affect him? Time will tell," McGarry said.

Fremantle's Canine Supporter

Fremantle's number one four-legged fan, a poodle named Chester, has been showing his support for the team. Owner Sue Thorman revealed that Chester's stylish cut and colour were achieved using food colouring and spray-on hairspray.

"It's food colouring, periwinkle, and the chevrons are spray-on hairspray," said stylist and owner Sue Thorman. "He is a pretty high maintenance kind of a guy."

"People just love to get photos; he's just a sensation, everyone just loves him," said co-owner Mark Cairn.

Kylie Minogue's Performance

Kylie Minogue is set to perform as part of the pre-game entertainment. Maguire noted that Minogue's appearance was expected to be a highlight of the day.
