An investigation into a dramatic fall at the Caulfield Cup that resulted in the euthanasia of Ohope Wins has cleared all five jockeys involved of any wrongdoing.
Racing Victoria stewards interviewed jockeys Jye McNeil, Mark Zahra, Rachel King, Jabez Johnstone and another rider after the incident, which occurred in the final straight of the 2,400-metre race on Saturday.
According to stewards, contact between Kings Valley and Green Spaces with about 300m to go resulted in the latter becoming unbalanced, which in turn led to a chain of events that brought down Half Yours, ridden by Zahra, and Ohope Wins, ridden by McNeil.
A short distance later, Half Yours subsequently fell. Ohope Wins that was trailing was subsequently brought down when unable to avoid the fallen Half Yours.
Racing Victoria stewards said they "could not attribute the incident to the careless actions of any one particular rider".
Ohope Wins was assessed on track as having a "serious racing injury" and was put down by on-course veterinarians. Half Yours suffered superficial cuts and scrapes.
McNeil, who rode Ohope Wins at Caulfield on Saturday, was cleared of any injury and is expected to ride at tomorrow's Geelong Cup.
Zahra was meeting with doctors today about a timeline for his return to riding, while trainer Tony McEvoy said Half Yours was recovering well from injuries and would be rested.
The incident has been referred to Racing Victoria's Veterinary Services Department, as is standard practice.
