The region's over 100 charismatic cascades, each with its own unique appeal, are currently flowing strongly, attracting attention from tourists and locals alike. However, with a warm, dry spring forecast, experts warn that this display of natural beauty won't last.
A fleeting spectacle
Federation University's professor of water resources engineering, Andrew Barton, notes that the current spectacle will not last more than a few months before the forecasted strong El Niño takes effect.
