GPs warn of 'doctor deserts' as migration cuts loom

A regional GP has labelled the federal government's plan to cut migration as a 'circus' amid concerns that the changes will create doctor deserts in rural towns.

Associate Professor Alam Yoosuff, who has worked as a GP in the Riverina town of Finley for 19 years, said that migration policies are being based on numbers rather than common sense.
